Hi everyone! I’m so glad to celebrate another holiday season as a student at UTD! This year, I have a gift that I know you’ll enjoy: my opinions! I’m going to review some of my favorite holiday movies, and then some of yours as well. Happy holidays!
Home Alone 4 (2002)
5/5 Cheeses
This is easily the best installment in the “Home Alone” franchise. I’m so glad that they recast the lead in this one, because that little shit from the first two really grates my cheese.
A Christmas Story (1983)
2/5 Cheeses
This one’s really, really popular, especially with older people. I never got the hype. It kind of sucks, and the main kid is so annoying the whole time.
A Christmas Story 2 (2012)
4/5 Cheeses
This one is a lot, lot better than the first film! Since this was made 30 years later, the terrible cast from the original is completely gone. You guys know how much I like legacy sequels.
Jingle All the Way (1996)
5/5 Cheeses
My favorite Christmas movie of all, I have to watch this Arnold Schwarzeneggar film at least twice a year. The superb writing and line deliveries make its emotional tension and character dynamics even better. It is the very definition of an instant classic.
Klaus (2019)
1/5 Cheeses
A lot of people have been saying that this one’s an instant classic, but some people don’t have very refined taste. It’s just a cartoon about Santa and a mailman; nothing special to be found in Klaus’ art or story at all.
Die Hard (1988)
1.5/5 Cheeses
Good action movie, but it obviously isn’t a holiday movie.
Gremlins (1984)
3/5 Cheeses
This is a decent one. I have some beef with it though, because my ex-wife would always call me a Gremlin when she was mad at me.
Elf (2003)
3/5 Cheeses
I liked this movie well enough, but I don’t care for Will Ferrell. His humor annoys me, so I usually have to take a cheese break halfway through the film.
It’s A Wonderful Life (1946)
2.5/5 Cheeses
This one’s fine at times, with an alright story. But most of it is just sooo boorrriing. It doesn’t help that it’s in black and white either.
