Hello, Comets! The Spring semester is well underway now — midterms sure creeped up fast — and so is the construction around the Student Union. Ahh, the sounds of heavy machinery in the morning.

We heard the superb… owl? or something? happened last month. We all know UTD students don’t care about sports, so we won’t bore you with who won. Happy for you though, or sorry that happened. More importantly, the internet was angry about pretty much everything except the football part. Some are calling Travis Kelce’s screaming a red flag and assuming Taylor Swift must hate him, because they definitely know her inner thoughts. People who are allergic to peanuts are mad at Uber for “making fun of them” in their ad. More understandably, deaf viewers were upset by the lack of accessibility in the ASL interpretations of the halftime performance. And speaking of that halftime performance, a lot of people were thrown off by how much chemistry Usher and Alicia Keys had considering they’re both married… and not to each other. The truth is, no one is really watching the Big Game for the game anymore.

In other news, the weebs are taking over. Even if you aren’t familiar with Vtubers (Virtual YouTubers) you may have been hearing about them recently. More mainstream content creators like MoistCr1TiKaL, Pyrocynical, and Kwite are covering the developments at Nijisanji, bringing them to the attention of people outside this niche community. If you’ve been wondering what all of this is about, here’s a short rundown: Nijisanji is a talent management company for Vtubers, except they’re notorious for being pretty terrible at managing those talents. Naturally, a lot of their employees have either quit or been unfairly fired, and the internet is taking notice. Nijisanji is trying to backpedal hard, but they’re only digging themselves a deeper grave as a result. It’s a messy situation that’s hard to explain without a lot more background knowledge, but basically capitalism bad.

But hey, it’s not all bad. After all, you’re reading AMP! That’s enough to brighten your whole week.
